Adelaide's is proud of each member of our team. While some have dedicated their career to Adelaide's (twenty five years and counting!) everyone at Adelaide's is dedicated to making our customers their number one priority. Jerry began his career in the hospitality business. From the start he was actively involved in all aspects of sales and marketing, opening some of Southern California's finer hotels. After being recruited to run a four star hotel in Hawaii he returned to San Diego and opened a European-style Floral & Event Company with the current Creative Director at Adelaide's - Larry Anhorn. They operated this company in Hillcrest for many years and ultimately sold it upon the adoption of his son from Romania. Jerry took over as General Manager for Adelaide's in July of 2011 and was recently promoted to its Chief Operating Officer to run all aspects of the company in August 2012. When he is not at Adelaide's - Jerry enjoys life with his partner, son, three dogs, a cat, two chickens and an aviary full of birds!
In addition to running Adelaide’s, Jerry is a fulltime realtor (CA License 01350319) representing some of the finest homes throughout San Diego County. He currently works in association with Big Block Realty, Inc and can be reached on his mobile at 619-517-0804 for any questions on buying or selling your home.
Larry was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. Being surrounded by a Family of farmers and gardeners led to his developing a love for all things living and growing at an early age.
He began his career in the floral industry as a youngster gardening and arranging flowers for competition through participation in the local garden club chapter.
Larry attended Portland State University in Portland, Oregon and graduated with honors holding a degree in Education with a Fine Arts concentration. His design vision is one of fun and whimsy that constantly changes while playing with Shape, Texture, Negative space, Color and Contrasts. His extensive background as a performer in the Theatre has formed many of his visual concepts about Floral Design and Display. He has had the pleasure of speaking to many groups about design and has been featured in several publications.
He has had the opportunity of working with many talented Floral Designers in the Northwest and California and while owning his own business has provided floral services for many of Southern California’s celebrity Families and Businesses. His current professional position is as Co-Owner and Creative Director of Adelaide’s La Jolla, a business with a venerable 80 year old history.
During his free time he enjoys spending time with his Family, (he has a 16 year old son named Chip), painting, reading and trying to stay sane in a home full of Dogs, Cats, Birds, Friends and Family and way too much life!
Mishele has a diverse background handling some of the most prestigious events in San Diego. She joined Adelaide’s in 2012 as our Production Manager and quickly rose to head-up the entire department. Mishele started her love of flowers and events in High School and has held positions in Napa, Hawaii, Las Vegas Los Angeles and San Diego for some of the most prestigious event companies. Her photo shows the true Mishele, fun loving, a true artist and one of the greatest human beings we are proud to name as part of the Adelaide’s Family. Don’t be fooled, however, by the photo as she is also one of the most organized and task oriented team members we have.
Robin doesn't like to tell you much of anything about herself. The reason behind this is that she is busy being responsible for the day-to-day operations of the flower, plant, design and delivery departments. To say she is busy is an understatement. What Robin won't tell you is that she is one of the hardest workers in the industry. Up many times at 4:30 am - she starts her day at the flower market and comes back to the store in time to help ensure that the product she has purchased is designed and out the door for delivery according to the promises made to our customers. Robin is an avid bike rider and can often be seen on the trails around Carlsbad, Encinitas and Oceanside. If you do run into her however - do ask her about her amazingly talented daughter - for that is one subject she will gladly talk about!
Nicole graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Ceramics. Most of her minor studio studies at Syracuse were in Fiber arts, Printmaking, and Paper/Bookmaking. She has always been drawn to the beauty of the earth and to organic forms, so people close to her were not surprised when she started working in the floral industry. Nicole has worked at Adelaide's for 10 years. Nicole's style of design is clean and tailored with a little touch of funk. Nicole also specializes in custom silk arrangements where her approach is realism and staying true to nature to create a realistic timeless piece. As Designer Manager she prides herself in trying to uphold the Adelaide's reputation for excellence and quality every day.
Craig moved back to San Diego from New York in 2013 and was immediately brought-in as an integral part of the design team at Adelaide's . He has been in the floral and event industry for the past 17 years working throughout the U.S. And Europe. As a graduate of The California Culinary Academy in San Francisco and the CIA Hyde Park, New York. He has worked as a private Chef and Freelance Food Stylist thought out the world . His motto has always been to think outside the box in both industries. Craig states – “I find a great deal of inspiration in nature along with working side-by-side with one of the most creative teams, I have had the pleasure of working with, at Adelaide's. I look forward daily to helping our customers bring their visions to life.” Craig not only heads up our plants department and designs for events, but is also our go-to person for bridal and event consultations. He is truly a Renaissance man!
